A Complete Architectural Transformation
Villa C56 represents a ground-up transformation of an existing residence into a highly sculptural, contemporary home. Known internally as ‘Curve DiLusso,’ the villa draws inspiration from the natural rhythms and layered formations of canyons, translating organic movement into refined architectural form.
The design unfolds across three distinctive levels, unified through a dramatic triple-height staircase positioned beneath a skylight that draws natural light deep into the interior. This staircase is a fully bespoke architectural feature, by Alpago’s in-house design and manufacturing teams, created specifically to support projects that demand this level of customization and technical precision.
The Marble Wall at the Heart of the Home
At the center of Villa C56 stands a defining architectural element: a full-height marble wall that spans the entire vertical volume of the villa. Composed of hundreds of individual marble pieces, the wall was not machine-milled or sourced as a prefabricated feature. Instead, each piece was hand-cut by artisans and installed on-site, one by one, over an extended period. The craftsmanship involved extended far beyond technical execution. It required a deep understanding of the design intent and a commitment to preserving that vision through hundreds of micro-decisions during installation. The result is an architectural feature that defines the space rather than simply decorating it.
Design Driven by Internal Standards, Not Awards
As with every Alpago project, the goal was to surpass previous benchmarks and deliver the most refined work the team had achieved to date.
